I have to confess, I’m a Real Estate Marketing junkie. It stems back from my Mortgage Broker days when I owned a small brokerage in Orlando, FL for about 10 years. This was pre sub prime market tanking. As my company grew and we worked with local Real Estate agents, they started taking notice that we really had the marketing thing down. Little did they know at the time I felt like I had no freaking clue what the hell I was doing, but I guess they knew less. We win 🙂

So a few local companies hired me on a contract basis to come in and train their agents on how to sell more homes and get more listings. It worked well, all of our business increased and we made some good money. In fact I was able to move into my first home (as an adult) in Celebration, FL – yes the town Disney built.

As the President and CEO of Thrive Development Group in Baltimore, MD marketing is very important to me. We sell Real Estate Investment Properties. Many of our buyers are landlords, however we have quite a few investors that find they can make much more money in Real Estate than they currently are with their Stocks, Bonds, 401k, IRA, Mutual Funds etc.

If you are in the Real Estate Business, or the Real Estate Investment business and you’re not leaning on modern technology you’re crazy (I’m talking Facebook, SnapChat, Twitter etc.). I’m amazed at how many agents I meet, when I ask them how they market their properties they simply respond by telling me they are on the MLS.

If you are “new” to Gary V be warned, he drops an occasional “F” bomb.

One of my absolute favorite parts of the video is where Fredrik drops a couple knowledge bombs. “It’s all about being driven, what drives you, what is your why? whatever is is put that somewhere in front of you and keep looking at it every day.” I personally couldn’t agree with Fredrick more, I have a Dream Board that I look at every single day.

Two of my personal tips are follow up and consistency. In order to follow up effectively you have to have a system, a way to remind yourself to actually “do” the follow up. The person you talked to 6 months ago very well could be ready to take action today, it’s all about timing. I’ve closed countless deals because I followed up consistently. If you aren’t utilizing social media and email marketing to assist you in your follow up you’re crazy. It will explode your business. BUT and here’s where consistency comes in. You may have to work hard to build your email list and your following on social media for 3 to 6 months before you see any results. BUT I promise you, consistency pays off. With social media focus on providing your target audience with consistent valuable content. Don’t sell, teach. Then sell. Provide them with value 80-90% of the time and sell the other 10-20% of the time. People get so wrapped up in being busy and trying to balance 100 different things. Pick 3 things that can grow your business, and do them consistently every day for 90 days. I GUARANTEE you that you will have huge success. In fact, come back and tell me about it.
